Weapon (greatsword), very rare

It has an ornately etched base, and appears to be modeled after the German Grobess Messer (lit. "Great Knife"), but its most unique feature is that it has been specially customized with a motorcycle-like grip which, when twisted, sprays a flammable fuel across the blade, greatly increasing the power of its blows.

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

When you hit with an attack roll, you may immediately roll a d20 again. Compare the second roll to the original attack roll:

  • If the second roll is within ±3 of the original roll (but not exactly the same), you gain 1 level of Exceed.

  • If the second roll is within ±2 of the original roll (but not exactly the same), you gain 2 levels of Exceed.

  • If the second roll is exactly equal to the original attack roll, you gain 3 levels of Exceed.

Note: Only the highest applicable Exceed level is gained per trigger. (i.e., if you match exactly, gain 3—do not stack lower levels.)

Exceed Levels & Effects

  • Level 1: Deal an additional 2d6 fire damage.

  • Level 2: Deal an additional 3d6 fire damage.

  •  Level 3: Deal an additional 6d6 fire damage.

  • this turn*

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Fire, Damage, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
