⚔️ Alpha’s Edge
Weapon (shortsword), very rare (requires attunement)
Evolved form of the Fang of the First Predator
📖 Lore
Forged in blood and evolved through conquest, Alpha’s Edge awakens the beast within its wielder. This weapon is the primal incarnation of dominance, torn from the lineage of the First Predator. It responds to instinct, hunger, and the thrill of the kill. Every strike whispers the old tongue of predators—“Hunt. Kill. Rise.
💀 Predator’s Hunger (Enhanced)
When you hit with Alpha’s Edge, the target takes an additional 1d8 necrotic damage if it is below its hit point maximum. If the target is below half its maximum HP, the damage increases to 1d10.
🧠 Bleeding Wound (Passive Effect)
When you hit a creature with Alpha’s Edge, it must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or begin bleeding. A bleeding creature takes 1d4 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns for 1 minute or until it receives magical healing or succeeds on a save at the end of its turn.
🐾 Mark the Prey (1/Short Rest)
As a bonus action, choose one creature within 60 feet that you can see. For the next minute:
-
You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks to track the creature.
-
You deal an extra 1d8 damage to that creature once per turn when you hit it with this weapon.
-
If the target is a Beast, Monstrosity, or Humanoid, you may reroll a failed attack against it once during this duration.
🐺 Alpha’s Roar (1/Long Rest)
As a bonus action, unleash a terrifying roar. All enemies within 10 feet who can hear you must succeed on a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. They may repeat the save at the end of each of their turns.
While enemies are frightened in this way, you may move through their space as if they were difficult terrain.
🧠 Sentience (Optional)
If you choose to awaken its consciousness:
-
Intelligence: 11
-
Wisdom: 16
-
Charisma: 14
-
Communication: Telepathic with wielder
-
Personality: Assertive, instinctual, focused on strength. It pressures the wielder to hunt, dominate, and not hesitate.
