Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement)

This radiant shield appears to be grown, not forged — a single large, prismatic crystal shaped into a curved disc, embedded with tiny harmonic filaments that sing softly when struck. Light refracts through it in calming patterns, and it hums gently in sync with its wielder's heartbeat.

While attuned to the Aegis of Resonant Light, you gain the following benefits:

  • Crystal Shield: You gain a +2 bonus to AC while wielding this shield.

  • Pulse of Peace: As a bonus action, you may activate the shield’s harmonic pulse. Until the beginning of your next turn, any creature that targets you or an ally within 10 feet of you with a melee attack must first succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15) or have disadvantage on the attack roll as their aggression is dulled by harmonic interference. This can be used your proficiency modifier number of time per day.

  • Reflective Harmony (1/day): When you or a creature within 5 feet of you is hit by a spell attack, you may use your reaction to refract the magic. Roll a d6:

    • On a 5–6, the spell is reflected back at the caster as if they had targeted themselves.

    • On a 3–4, the spell’s effect is halved (damage or duration, DM’s discretion).

    • On a 1–2, the shield overloads and you take force damage equal to your level.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Combat, Warding
