Upon attunement, Illundrin’s Amulet grants the wearer the ability to commune cryptically with the worlds beyond. When worn, the amulet manifests unsettling whispers, harsh voices, and piercing screams—echoes of the dead reaching out to your soul. However, those with a strong will can discern fragments of wisdom amidst the cacophony.
Once attuned, the wearer may initiate contact with the spirits of the dead by performing a ten-minute ritual. During this meditative state, the wearer is assailed by a relentless barrage of voices—tormenting, taunting, and overwhelming. No skill check is required to endure this trial, though the ritual itself inflicts 1d12 psychic damage upon its completion.
Upon successfully enduring the ritual, the wearer establishes a fleeting connection with a willing spirit, gaining the opportunity to ask a few questions or receive brief counsel. This exchange is conducted entirely through psychic communication—no words are spoken or heard, though the wearer may appear to mouth silent words.
Notes: wearing the amulet for an hour. Every 15 minutes you will be challenged with horrific visions and a relentless barrage of voices. Must succeed a Wis Save at diff. starting at 14 and adding +2 every 15 minutes. If you fail any of the four (4) saves the Amulet falls from your neck and lies dormant for 24 hours before another Attunement can be attempted., Communication, Utility, divination
