Aeltheria is the divine memory of the world, the echo of its first breath. Where Tharzix brings silence and pressure, she is voice and light. Where he drowns, she uplifts. She was the first thought formed from the chaos, a divine word spoken at the dawn of time—before stars, before gods, before The Deep One ever stirred the waves.
She does not rule over mortals but preserves them, not as fossils of the past, but as living stories, defiant against the pull of nothingness. Aeltheria is invoked not through temples but through songs, poems, names whispered to the wind, and acts of memory and love.
Lost and Forgotten: Aeltheria has long since been forgotten by the world. Her altars are buried in seabeds, her name erased from history by Tharzix’s creeping silence. But her presence endures in every act of remembrance, in stories passed down, and in light that refuses to go out.
Opposes the Abyss: Where Tharzix devours, Aeltheria writes into existence. She can empower the PCs to resist entropy, offer protection from madness and oblivion, and rekindle divine memory to weaken Tharzix’s influence.
Mortal Connection: She communicates not through grand omens, but through quiet inspiration—guiding a bard to compose a song that binds a soul, or a scholar who uncovers her hidden glyphs. She may speak to the party through dreams, recordings, or a living avatar bound to a sunken archive.
Symbols and Aesthetic:
A stylized spiral flame made of silver and gold
Floating script that glows faintly in the dark
A radiant quill of starlight
A tree whose leaves bear living runes—language itself
Her followers wear bands of silver etched with names, carry tomes bound in bioluminescent kelp, and sing her verses over the bones of the drowned.
Mechanics in Play (Divine Intervention / Boons):
When the party aligns with Aeltheria, they may receive:
The Light Unforgotten (Divine Boon):
You are immune to effects that would erase your memory, identity, or soul.
Once per long rest, you may invoke Aeltheria’s name to cast Mass Cure Wounds, Greater Restoration, or Sunbeam as if using a 6th-level slot.
You may speak a single true name—of a creature, object, or place—which becomes anchored against oblivion. While anchored, it cannot be erased, lost, or banished by Tharzix’s magic.
Living Word Glyphs:
Ancient glyphs can be recovered in ruins: when assembled, these can seal rifts, weaken heralds, or even trap part of Tharzix's essence in a phylactery of living memory.
Voice of the First Dawn (Avatar Form):
In your darkest moment, a golden silhouette appears in the fog, shedding light that burns back the abyss. For one round, all players automatically succeed Wisdom saves, deal radiant damage on all attacks, and gain inspiration.
Adventure Seeds:
A submerged lighthouse once powered by Aeltheria’s last spark lies in ruin—reignite it to cast a protective barrier across the region.
A bardic relic contains a verse of her true name. If sung correctly, it could banish a herald of Tharzix or dispel the fog permanently over an island.
The final vault of the Living Word exists somewhere in the sea. Inside it, the last story of the drowned world waits—a prophecy or truth Tharzix could not erase.
