Forged from the crystallized tears of Jolie herself and laced with threads of immortal silver, this ornate rosary was once the divine focus of High Priestess Séraphine Val’Roz. After her ascension—and betrayal—her soul was bound to the relic as penance, punishment, or perhaps prophecy.

The rosary appears as a glowing chain of miniature white masks, each face carved with impossible beauty, and a single central crystal in the shape of a teardrop-shaped eye, glowing softly with rose-gold flame.

✝️ Divine Transformation — “Unmask the Seraph” (Bonus Action, 1/long rest)

You may command the rosary to manifest Séraphine’s ghostly form as a CR 13 Seraphic Echo (stat block available on request) for 1 minute. During this time:

• You fight side-by-side.

• The Echo uses radiant magic and choir-themed abilities (blinding light, hymns that cause psychic pain, etc.).

• You may cast spells through her, increasing spell save DC by +2.

At the end of 1 minute, the Echo burns away in golden fire, whispering a fragment of Jolie’s will.

🗡️ Weapon Form — "Inquisitor's Thorns"

As a bonus action, the rosary may transform into a whip of rosary beads wreathed in holy flame, dealing 2d6 radiant damage + 1d6 psychic damage, finesse/reach. On a hit, it pulls a target 10 ft closer, and if they are below half HP, they must make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the end of their next turn.

• On a critical hit, the whip forms a porcelain mask over the target’s face, silencing them until the end of their next turn.

🎭 Echo of Doctrine (Passive)

While attuned, the wielder:

• Gains proficiency in Religion and Persuasion (or Expertise if already proficient).

• Is immune to being charmed by any creature that is not Beautiful (DM discretion or Charisma 20+).

• Can cast Zone of Truth and Sanctuary once per long rest, without using a spell slot.

💔 Judgmental Consciousness (Curse-Like Feature)

The Rosary will not transform or obey if it deems the user too impure. It may go dormant, emit psychic shrieks, or physically burn the attuned if:

• The user willingly associates with "ugly" (flawed, corrupted, monstrous, or disfigured) beings.

• The user betrays Jolie, even unknowingly.

• The user refuses Séraphine's advice more than three times.

In such cases, the user must make a DC 18 Charisma saving throw or gain a level of Exhaustion from mental strain and guilt.

🔥 Tear of Jolie (1/week, Reaction)

When you would be reduced to 0 HP, Séraphine may offer you Jolie’s protection. If you accept, you regain half your HP and unleash a 30-ft radiant pulse, dealing 8d10 radiant damage to enemies and forcing them to kneel (DC 19 Con save or fall prone). However, Séraphine will ask for "penance" within the next 7 days…

Refusing her next demand may cause her to try to possess you temporarily (DC 19 Wisdom save to resist).
