Wondrous Item, artifact

"This relic hand-fan was dragged down into this realm by Mitsuko, the shrine maiden whose soul now dances in the realm of stories. It radiates a serene yet unyielding spiritual power, woven with tales of ceremonial grace, purity, and divine protection."

Kitsune no Shukufuku

With just a swing of this fan, your attire shifts into the appropriate garb for each performance.

Urayasu no Mai

Whenever you grant Bardic Inspiration, you may choose to perform a divine bout of dance or theatrical act. When you do, you can apply one of the following effects to the target, in addition to the Bardic Inspiration die:

  • Miwokakusu"You dance with an eerie allure, drawing in attention while obscuring your face with your fan and long sleeves."
The target becomes invisible to Celestial, Fey, Undead, and Fiend type creatures for the duration of a couple of minutes equal to your Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus.

  • Nihon-buyo "You perform a classical dance, native to your homeland."
The target immediately regains hit points equal to the Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier.
(Starting at 10th level in Bard, the healing increases to twice your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier.)

  • Hanafubuki"Petals scatter from your sleeves as you dance in a wild yet elegant manner."
For the duration of a couple of minutes equal to your Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus, the target’s weapon attacks deal an additional 1d4 radiant damage.

Kamigakari

"The miasma from this fan blends with your soul, allowing you to channel higher spirits through your performance."

As a bonus action, you may expend a Bardic Inspiration die to channel one of three higher spirits through your Kagura dance (you cannot channel more than one at once):

  • Miko-Kagura"You perform with torimono in hand (bells, a folding fan, dwarf bamboo, a twig of the sakaki tree) and wield the gohei as yorishiro."
Your movements create a radiant ward. For the next 5 minutes, you gain advantage on saving throws against charm, fear, and possession, and also receive the full benefits of "Miwokakusu".

  • Shishi-Kagura"You dance while cloaked in a spectral lion costume, summoning the essence of a lion spirit."
You gain temporary hit points equal to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier, and the benefits of "Nihon-buyo".
After 5 minutes, the costume fades and its effects end.

  • Iseryu-Kagura"A spectral tornado of petals surrounds your body, playfully scattering around you as you perform this beautiful dance."
For the next 5 minutes, your weapon attacks deal additional radiant damage equal to your Bardic Inspiration die, and you gain +1 to your AC.
