Weapon (greatsword), artifact (requires attunement by a fighter)

Greatsword forged of shimmering dark metal.

You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, it deals an extra 1d6 necrotic damage on a hit.

While attuned, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have proficiency in the Survival and Athletics skills.
  • You can cast Cloak of the Raven Queen (detailed below) once per day.
  • You can cast Pass without Trace once per day.
  • Raven Queens Embrace (see below)

Cloak of the Raven Queen (Darkness)

As an action, you can invoke the sword to create a sphere of magical darkness that spreads from it, filling a 20-foot-radius sphere for up to 10 minutes.

The darkness moves with the sword and spreads around corners.
Covering the sword completely with an opaque object, such as a cloth, blocks the darkness.

A creature with Darkvision can’t see through this darkness, and nonmagical light cannot illuminate it.
The attuned wielder can see through this darkness as if it were dim light.

Pass without trace

When cast through the sword, a veil of shadows and silence radiates from you, masking you and your companions from detection. For the duration, each creature you choose within 30 feet (including yourself) gains a +10 bonus to Dexterity (Stealth) checks and cannot be tracked except by magical means. A creature that receives this bonus leaves behind no tracks or other traces of its passage. Concentration, up to 1 hour.

Raven Queen's Embrace:

When you hit a creature with this sword, if that creature has a Challenge Rating of 1 or lower, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be slain instantly.

Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Necrotic, Proficiency: Athletics, Proficiency: Survival, fighter, Damage, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze
