“In shadow we are born, in silence we endure, and in darkness we bring the end.” — Creed of the Hollow Hunt
The Wraithleaf Shroud is no longer merely armor—it is a sacred vestment to those who walk the Hollow Path, a gift from the ancient rangers of the Gloombound Orders. Forged in secret beneath the Shadebloom Glades during the worst of the Shadowfell incursions, the Shroud is believed to be a living relic—a symbiosis of planar twilight essence, ancient craft, and awakened predator.
The armor is constructed from the hide of a legendary duskpanther alpha slain in the haunted Evershade Depths. Its black-purplish leather glistens like wet leaves under moonlight, and the shadowglass studs embedded throughout shimmer subtly with captured starlight. It is utterly silent in motion. Its duskmoss cloak responds to its wearer’s emotions, bristling in anger or vanishing entirely when the wearer focuses on becoming unseen.
Woven with runes gifted by the Umbrathari and blessed in secret by shadowbound druids, the Shroud pulses faintly when near beings of fiendish, undead, or extraplanar origin. Those who don the armor become something more than mortal—an apex predator moving through gloom as if born to it, commanding shadows with a thought and striking with the silence of final breath.

- Hollow Veil (3/day): As a bonus action, you may teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see in dim light or darkness, leaving behind a brief afterimage. Your next attack before the end of your turn has advantage and deals an additional 2d8 psychic damage.
- Eclipsing Shroud (1/day): As an action, you may activate the armor’s full potential. For 1 minute:
- You gain resistance to necrotic, psychic, and radiant damage.

- As an action, you can summon a loyal animal companion to aid you in battle. The companion can be any beast that is CR 18 or lower, and it remains with you until it is dismissed or slain. The animal companion is fully bonded to you and gains proficiency in your choice of either Dexterity or Wisdom saving throws. The companion shares your initiative count but takes its turn immediately after you. You can communicate telepathically with your companion over any distance while you are on the same plane of existence. Additionally, the animal companion can grow stronger over time, gaining extra hit points and increasing its proficiency bonus as you level up. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Lore and History
The Wraithleaf Shroud was first donned by Naelith Varn, a legendary Gloom Stalker who vanished into the Shadowfell Tangle with a squad of elite Nightblades. Since then, it has passed through secret hands and dark oaths, each bearer carving their name into the shadows of history.
