The wavy blade is made from highly polished, mirrorlike brass, along its length run fine discolorations in the steel, not unlike damascus. Each layer is a slightly different color, a ruddy red near the outside, and nearly white in the center. Whenever it is brought near flames it seems to come alive. No matter how long the blade is left out to the elements it will neither tarnish nor stain; it is always perfectly clean.
