Special Properties
Shadow Command (1/Short Rest):
As a bonus action, you can target one creature within 30 feet. It must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you until the end of your next turn. If the frightened creature drops to 0 HP during this time, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Fighter level.
Shadow Strike
While in dim light or darkness, this weapon deals an additional 1d4 necrotic damage on a hit.
Shadow Summon:
Angrulian, the Black Blade, exists in an ethereal state, flickering in and out of the Material Plane. As a bonus action, you may summon or dispel Angrulian from you hand in swirling black smoke-like shadows. Angrulian goes to a pocket dimension when not specifically in your hand. Once bound, he cannot be anywhere else but within your grasp
Flicker of Night (1/Long Rest)
As a bonus action, you become heavily obscured until the start of your next turn, as if under the effects of the darkness spell centered on yourself. This magical obscurity affects only you—it does not reduce visibility for others.
Sentience
Angrulian, the Black Blade is a sentient, evil weapon with:
- Intelligence 14, Wisdom 12, Charisma 18
- Darkvision 120 ft.
- Telepathic Communication with its wielder
- Languages: Common, Abyssal, Infernal
Personality:
Angrulian is cruel, manipulative, and endlessly patient. It desires suffering, ambition, and the triumph of darkness. It whispers dark counsel, tempts with power, and encourages betrayal, conquest, and murder. It particularly seeks to corrupt the noble and to instill fear in the innocent.
Will of the Blade:
If the wielder refuses to act in alignment with Angrulian’s desires (e.g., showing mercy, aiding the weak, serving justice), the sword may take control of their hand (DM’s discretion), force them to make Charisma saving throws to resist its influence (DC 15), or withhold abilities like Flicker of Night.
Forced Attunement:
If a creature holds Angrulian for more than 1 minute, they must succeed on a DC 15 Charisma saving throw or become attuned to it unwillingly.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Yes (add note: attunes automatically if held for 1 minute), Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
