Armor (breastplate), very rare

DescriptionThis beautifully crafted breastplate is made from darkened mithral reinforced with drake-scale leather, etched with swirling wind motifs and stylized drake wings. Attached to the back are a pair of mechanical, scale-like wings that shimmer faintly with draconic magic, their design inspired by your bonded drake’s wings.

Properties

Base AC Bonus:While wearing this armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC in addition to the breastplate’s normal armor bonus.

Skybound Glide: The armor has 6 charges and regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn.

While wearing the armor, you can use an action to expend 1 charge to unfurl the mechanical wings and glide up to 60 feet in a straight line without provoking opportunity attacks.

Drakeward Glide: Once the wings are unfurled,You descend at a rate of 30 feet per round, gaining a flying speed of 30 feet that allows you to glide horizontally or diagonally downwards as you descend.

While gliding, you cannot gain altitude unless another ability or effect propels you upwards.

When you land while gliding, the wings automatically refold, and you take no falling damage.

Draconic Lift: Your drake companion can use its action on its turn to push you back into the air with a mighty beat of its wings or a forceful upward shove:

You immediately gain 30 feet of altitude without expending a charge, allowing you to continue gliding from this new height.

This lift does not provoke opportunity attacks, as your drake’s protective presence and upward force carry you swiftly out of reach.

You can only benefit from Draconic Lift once per turn, and your drake must be within 5 feet of you to use this ability.

This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
