Battlebook: this spellbook can be used as a spellcasting focus, providing a bonus to your spell attack rolls and spellsave DC based on this item's rarity. On your turn you can use a free action to transform this book into a magic greataxe, the pages of the book forming a blade. This greataxe loses the Heavy property and gains the Light property, and you gain a bonus to your attack and damage rolls made with it based on this item's rarity.
Arcane Smite: when you hit a creature with this spellbook while in its greataxe form you can expend a spellslot and inflict additional damage equal to 1d6 + 1d6 per spellslot level. You choose a type of damage that appears in a spell contained in this spellbook, which must be of the level of the expended spellslot.
Bookmark: whenever you use your Arcane Smite on a creature that has blood, you can choose to absorb the blood of this creature inside one of the pages of your spellbook. This creature is now 'bookmarked* in your spellbook (unless it is protected against divination) on a page that indicates its age, its portrait, its species and its name. You can destroy a Bookmark Page to cast the spells Locate Creature or Scrying on that creature, even if you don't know these spells, and you consider that you have a body part of the creature for the spellsave modifier of the Scrying spell. Your maximum number of bookmark pages is defined by this item's rarity bonus.
Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Must spend time to attune to the book in order to learn and understand how to use the transforming properties., Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
