Weapon (rifle, hunting), legendary (requires attunement)

The bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3. When you hit with an attack roll using this weapon, the target takes an extra 2d6 force damage. In addition, you can make one attack with it as a Bonus Action on each of your turns.

As an action, you can unleash a 60-foot cone of destructive energy from the weapon. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw using your spell save DC (or DC 19), taking 10d6 force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Once this action is used, it can’t be used again until you finish a long rest.

Invoking the Rune. As an action, you can expend a spell slot of 1st-level or higher to invoke the weapon’s rune to cast the hunter's mark spell with it; the spell has a duration of 1 hour and doesn’t require concentration.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Force, Damage, Combat, Range, Two-Handed, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Slow
