This polished silver band contains a small, mirror-like gem. To imprint a likeness, a humanoid creature must wear the ring for 1 hour. The ring stores the wearer's exact physical appearance, including height, weight, and distinctive features. Another humanoid creature can then wear the ring and use an action to assume that stored appearance. The transformation functions like the seeming spell: it alters the wearer's body and equipment and can make them appear up to 1 foot shorter or taller and heavier or lighter. The disguise ends early if the ring is removed. It does not replicate the imitated creature's voice or mannerisms; a creature using the Study action can make an Intelligence (Investigation) check (DC 15) to see through the illusion. This magic works only for humanoid creatures; the ring cannot imprint the form of a beast or other non-humanoid, and a non-humanoid cannot be transformed by it. When adopting a stored appearance, the wearer assumes the stored creature's race and gender, altering their own body accordingly. Once the effect ends, it can't be used again until the next dawn. The ring stores only one likeness at a time; imprinting a new one erases the old.
Notes: Only humanoid creatures can imprint or use this ring; beasts or other non-humanoids cannot be transformed by it. When a wearer adopts the stored appearance, they assume the stored creature's race and gender as part of their likeness., None.
