This staff is carved from whitewood and inlaid with tiny fragments of starmetal. At rest, it appears as an ordinary staff, but when gripped and drawn like a bow, it flexes smoothly and forms an arc of shimmering energy between its ends — a radiant "bowstring" with no physical components.
The Astral Recurve has the following properties:
Spellcasting Focus. The staff serves as a spellcasting focus for any Wisdom-based spellcaster. It cannot be used as a ranged weapon and does not fire projectiles.
Unstrung Precision. When you make a ranged spell attack using this staff, you may add a +1 to your attack roll.
Ancestral Channeling. Once per long rest, when casting a spell that deals damage, you may change the spell's damage type to radiant.
Astral Sense. While attuned to this staff, you can faintly perceive the subtle outline of constellations, even when indoors, underground, or under clouded skies. In addition, through soft shifts or ripples in the stars, you can sense the presence of divination magic within 30 feet of you. This is a passive effect, and does not reveal the source or spell used.
Notes: Bonus: Ranged Spell Attacks, Wisdom-based spellcaster
