Armor (any light, medium, or heavy), rare (requires attunement)

A set of plate mail with a leather design similar to a bear. To protect against bludgeoning damage, there is a set of springs inside the armor that softens the blows. While wearing this armor, your AC increases by 2, and you have resistance to bludgeoning damage. You are unable to remove the armor, or the springlocks malfunction.

Curse. This armor is cursed, a fact that is revealed only when the Identify spell is cast on the armor or you attune to it. Attuning to the armor curses you until you are targeted by a Remove Curse spell or similar magic. When you take fire, lightning, or bludgeoning damage, or roll a 1 on an attack or save, roll a d20. On a 1-6, the springlocks malfunction. You are restrained until you use an action to make a DC 15 Strength or Dexterity check to free yourself. Each round you are restrained by the springlocks, you take 4d6 piercing damage as the internal mechanisms crush part of your body. This damage bypasses resistance/immunity unless you're a construct or undead.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
