The Shroud of Kamidori is one of the splintered remnants of the long-forgotten minor god of bargains, Kamidori. When Kamidori was shattered, fragments of her power were condensed into a number of artifacts, some of which contained aspects of Kamidori herself. The Shroud is a cloak woven from prussian blue fabric and is tied at the neck. As long as the wielder accepts the Mark of Kamidori, the Shroud does not require attunement.
The Shroud of Kamidori grants the following benefits when worn;
- Movement speed is increased by 10 feet
- As a reaction, the wearer can choose to swap places with any ally within 60 feet. If the ally is not willing, they can make a charisma save against your spell save DC to resist
- If the wearer falls unconscious, they can choose to permanently mark a death save to immediately regain half their HP and cure any status conditions or effects. This death save can only be reverted through a significant sacrifice to Kamidori herself at one of her temples or shrines
Additionally, the Shroud's greatest benefit is its ability to reduce incoming damage. Any time the wearer takes damage of any type besides psychic, they can choose to predict how much damage they will take. If the prediction falls anywhere between 50 to 100 percent of the base damage they would've taken, they will instead take the number they predicted. If the wearer predicts a number higher than the damage they would have taken, they instead take the base damage. If the wearer predicts a number anywhere between 0 to 50 percent of the damage they would've taken, they instead take the full base damage, as well as the amount they predicted. In this way, the Shroud of Kamidori can potentially multiply the damage of any attack suffered by a magnitude of up to 1.5, or reduce it by a magnitude of up to 0.5.
