Through a blend of mechanical precision and magical illusion, it can capture and produce sepia-toned images etched directly onto treated parchment.
To Operate. Using the Arcane Camera requires an action to aim and focus using its dials. When you press the shutter button, a brief magical flash exposes the subject. The camera hums softly as internal gears turn and arcane glyphs flare, etching the image onto a parchment square that emerges from a slot at the base within 6 seconds.
Storage & Limits. The Arcane Camera can store enough magical charge to capture up to 5 images before it must be recharged. Recharging requires either a short rest to let the glyphs cool or replacing the ink-and-crystal cartridge (costing 5 gp, crafted by an artificer or skilled tinker).
Lighting. Images are clearest in good light. A built-in magical flash can illuminate an area within 10 feet for the purpose of capturing a picture, though it has no effect on combat or vision.
