This Tahitian pearl has a tiny speck in the middle that is always visible to those who look for it. Vaguely resembling a heart, this pearl was used by captain cirdo to capture, torture, and abuse the souls of those he and his crew killed cursing them with a decaying unlife that rid them of their humanity.

Each casting of a spell costs a charge which if not all spent are recharged on a long rest

Once all charges have been expended the user immediately gains a level of exhaustion that cannot be dispelled by rest and instead the user must then kill a sentient humanoid in order to fully recover and recharge the pearl (each day the pearl is uncharged is another’s level of exhaustion).
