Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement by a fighter, paladin)

Weapon (longsword or weapon of choice)
Forged from meteoric steel quenched in the blood of a celestial, this blade exists partially in the material and ethereal planes at once. Its edge is sharp enough to cut the threads of fate.

Properties

  • Undying’s Bane. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this weapon, and it deals an additional 2d8 radiant damage to undead.

  • Phase Cut. As a bonus action after hitting a creature, you may force it to make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. On a fail, the target becomes partially phased — it cannot move more than 15 feet from its current location until the start of your next turn.

  • Sever the Thread. Once per long rest, when you hit a creature with this weapon, you can choose to sever its connection to the material plane. The target must make a DC 18 Charisma saving throw. On a failure, it is banished for 1 minute with no concentration required. If used on Death, this interrupts its teleport ability and removes Eternal Pursuit for the rest of the encounter.

Drawback: While attuned, your dreams are haunted by the souls of those you’ve struck with the blade, imposing disadvantage on the first saving throw you make each day

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Notes: To attune with the Aetherial Edge the wielder must willingly deal 20 hit points of damage to themselves, letting their blood run along the edge of the weapon while swearing an oath to strike down Death itself., fighter, paladin, Versatile, Sap
