Aegis of the Dawn
This magnificent greatsword is hilted in burnished gold and silver, with a blade forged from a metal as pure as solidified light. Inscribed along its length are glowing holy runes that shift and shimmer. When not in use, the blade seems to hum with a quiet, righteous power.

As a bonus action, you can speak a command word to wreathe the blade in your chosen type of divine energy, which sheds Bright Light in a 40-foot radius and Dim Light for an additional 40 feet. Choose from one of the following options:

Purifying Flame: The blade ignites with brilliant, sanctified fire. Attacks with this weapon deal an additional 2d6 fire damage.

Holy Radiance: The blade emanates a searing, holy light. Attacks with this weapon deal an additional 2d6 radiant damage.

This effect lasts until you take a Bonus Action to issue the command again or until you drop, stow, or sheathe the weapon. You can choose a new energy type each time you activate this ability. Only one divine damage type can be active at once, but this can be combined with other effects.
Mastery of the Dawn
As you and the Aegis of the Dawn grow in power, your bond with the holy energies of the blade deepens. At 17th level, you can choose to amplify the blade's power.

Sun's Fury (Requires Amplification): When you use a bonus action to activate either the Purifying Flame or Holy Radiance feature, you can choose to amplify its power by taking 2d6 necrotic damage. If you do, the extra damage dealt by the weapon increases to 4d6 of the chosen type (fire or radiant) until the end of the current turn. This amplified damage ignores all resistance.
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
