Notes: The sword is sentient, but "brain-damaged" and utterly insane. Èrakos created it by inserting into it the remnants of the lobotomized psyche of "Ichabod the Terrible," a Balor who had been his tormentor during his time as a slave in Azzagrat. Around the time of his descent into the Abyss, Èrakos was hunted down and forced back into slavery. As it happened, one of his pursuers was the Balor Ichabod. Èrakos surprised him and trapped him in an Iron Vial. When he returned from the Far Realm, Èrakos delighted in torturing Ichabod's psyche until the Tanar'ri was nothing but a numbed, screaming, and tormented amalgam of consciousness. He performed horrific experiments, cutting and reassembling the creature's body and mind, until Èrakos grew bored and decided to trap what remained of the demon's psyche in a black opal. He then set the gem in the pommel of his new sword. Whenever Èrakos touches the hilt of the weapon, the trapped demon screams in terror., Anyone attempting to attune might be overwhelmed by its heart-rending screams: each time they touch the sword, the user must succeed on an Intimidate check (Save 20 Charisma) to silence it, or suffer terrible pain (2d12 psychic points) every turn they wield the weapon. If the character is reduced to 0 HP, by failing to attune, his/her head explode. After ten consecutive successful attempts, the attunement is successful., Versatile, Sap
