Weapon (dagger), legendary (requires attunement)

This tarnished, kitchen-grade butter knife looks like junk. Its edge is dull, its handle is chipped, and it’s barely sharp enough to cut bread. Yet in the presence of dragons, it glows faintly with golden light, becoming a weapon of legendary power.

  • Dragon-Slayer Supreme. When you hit a dragon, the knife deals an additional 8d10 radiant damage, ignoring resistance and immunity.

  • Spread Thin. Against dragons, the knife’s attacks always score a critical hit on a 19–20.

  • Slice the Hoard. If you strike the killing blow on a dragon with this weapon, the dragon’s hoard scatters into neat, pre-sliced stacks of coin and gems.

  • Dragonsense. While attuned, you know the distance and direction of any dragon within 10 miles.

  • Utterly Worthless. Against non-dragons, this weapon is treated as an improvised weapon that deals only 1 bludgeoning damage, even on a hit.

  • Embarrassing to Wield. You have disadvantage on Charisma checks when brandishing the knife in non-combat situations, because… it’s a butter knife.

  • Obsession. The wielder slowly develops a craving for dragon butter (imaginary, of course), murmuring about “spreading justice thin” in their sleep.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.

Notes: Damage: Radiant, Disadvantage: Charisma Ability Checks, Finesse, Light, Thrown, Nick
