Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Forged under a stolen full moon by a cabal of shadow‐forged smiths, the Abyssal Moonstruck Sword appears as a long, graceful blade of silvery steel streaked with living shadow. In darkness its edge seems to drink in light, while under moonlight veins of pale radiance trace intricate lunar runes along the fuller. The pommel is crowned with a blood-tipped obsidian crescent, embedding whispers of ancient rites into every swing.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. In addition, the weapon ignores resistance to slashing damage.

When you attack a creature that has at least one head with this weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, you cut off one of the creature's heads. The creature dies if it can't survive without the lost head. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage, doesn't have or need a head, has legendary actions, or the GM decides that the creature is too big for its head to be cut off with this weapon. Such a creature instead takes an extra 6d8 slashing damage from the hit.

Some Special abilities

Shadowstep Strike: Once per turn when you hit a creature, you can use a bonus action to teleport to an unoccupied space in dim light or darkness within 20 feet of that creature.

Lunar Beacon (Full Moon Only): While under a full moon, the sword sheds bright moonlight in a 15-foot radius (dim for an additional 15 feet). Allies within the bright light have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Sunscorch Edge: If drawn in direct sunlight, the blade flares with searing brilliance, and its wielder takes 1d4 fire damage for each round spent holding it in sunlight (this effect is negated in any shadow of medium size or larger).

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
