Weapon (pistol), very rare

Appearance

A sleek mechanical rifle with shifting plates, rotating chambers, and retractable tools hidden within. The weapon looks like a hybrid between a sniper-rifle, musket, and precision wrenching tool. Glowing runes and gears power its moving components.

Properties

Firearm Mode

  • Ranged Weapon (Firearm):

    • Damage: 1d10 piercing

    • Range: 80/240

    • Ammunition: Special Arcane Charges (created automatically by the weapon when attuned, no need for physical bullets).

    • Counts as magical for overcoming resistance and immunity.

  • Adaptive Shot (3/short rest): You may infuse the rifle shot with elemental energy. Choose Fire, Lightning, or Thunder damage. The attack deals +1d8 damage of that type.

Multitool Mode

By using a bonus action, you can shift the Omni-Caster into one of the following tool forms:

  • Arcane Wrench: Grants advantage on checks to repair mechanical devices.

  • Smithing Torch: Functions as a set of smith’s tools, can generate small flames like produce flame.

  • Precision Driver: Grants advantage on Sleight of Hand checks involving locks or mechanisms.

  • Magnetic Claw: Can pull a Small metal object (under 5 pounds) within 30 feet into your hand.

Integrated Artificer Features

  • While attuned, the Omni-Caster counts as any set of artisan’s tools you are proficient with.

  • Once per long rest, you can cast Identify without expending a spell slot or material components through the Omni-Caster.

Special Ability — Overload Shot (1/long rest)

As an action, you may overcharge the Omni-Caster with your artificer infusion energy. Make a single ranged attack:

  • On a hit, the target takes 4d10 thunder damage and must succeed on a Strength save (DC = 8 + Proficiency + Int modifier) or be knocked prone.

  • After the attack, the Omni-Caster overheats and cannot be used to make ranged attacks until the start of your next turn.

Drawback

Because it is integrated into your systems, it cannot be wielded by anyone else without malfunctioning. If taken from you, it reverts to a pile of inert gears and parts.

Proficiency with a Pistol allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
