Description
Forged in blackened metal veined with liquid silver, Alasa feels sluggish and heavy in the hand of an impatient warrior. Its runes glow faintly only when the blade lies unused, as if feeding on the absence of bloodshed. Within the blade lies the imprisoned demon lord Yeenoghu, whose eternal hunger fuels the weapon’s power.
Dormant Hunger
Alasa grows stronger the longer it remains unused. Each day the weapon spends without being wielded in combat, it gains new properties. However, the blade must then be fed with the blood of creatures—measured in Challenge Rating (CR)—equal to the number of days it was left unused.
-
Sated: If it is properly fed, Alasa grants its full benefits.
-
Overfed: If given more than the minimum CR, it grants permanent effects.
-
Starved: If not properly fed, it weakens (see “If Starved”) and punishes its wielder.
If the blade is starved, the wielder suffers necrotic damage.
If Alasa goes more than 10 days without feeding, the wielder must succeed on a DC 20 Charisma saving throw or become possessed by the weapon. While possessed, the wielder is controlled by Alasa and attacks all creatures nearby until the blade is satiated.

Curse — Insatiable Hunger
This weapon is cursed. Once attuned, the wielder cannot voluntarily unattune from it unless freed by a remove curse spell cast with a 9th-level slot or divine intervention.
Each time Alasa awakens after days of inactivity, it must feed. If denied proper nourishment, it harms its wielder, and eventually takes control to slaughter indiscriminately until its hunger is sated.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Versatile, Sap
