Armor (studded leather), very rare (requires attunement)

You have a +2 bonus to AC while wearing this armor.

The armor has 7 charges. You can use and regain charges in the following way:

  • If you are subject to Dexterity saving through by a spell, you can use a reaction to absorb the damage from the spell into the armor. You gain a number of charges equal to the spells level.
  • If the wielder of this armor is capable of casting spells, the armor drains all spell slots from the wielder, even if the weapon is full on charges, and turns them into charges. The armor cannot overload in this way.
  • When you are subject to a melee attack, you can expend any number of charges to increase your AC by that amount.
  • If you are suffering from a condition, you can use a charge to dispel the condition affecting you. When used, the number of charges needed to use increases by one for future uses. This resets after a long rest.
  • Overload - If you absorb a spell and it would cause the number of charges to exceed 7, roll a d20. If the die rolls a number equal to the number of charges overloaded, the armor explodes in an eruption of force, dealing (total charges including overload)d8 force damage to all creatures within 20ft. The armor loses all magical properties and is destroyed. (i.e. if you absorb the effect of a 3rd level fireball with 7 charges already, you would need to roll a 1-3 to cause the weapon to explode.)

Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, If you are subject to Dexterity saving through by a spell, you can use a reaction to absorb the damage from the spell into the armor. You gain a number of charges equal to the spells level. If the wielder of this armor is capable of casting spells, the armor drains all spell slots from the wielder, even if the weapon is full on charges, and turns them into charges. The armor cannot overload in this way., Combat, Warding
