Weapon (crossbow, hand), rare

You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Properties
The Assassin's Crossbow uses the properties of the hand crossbow, the wielder is proficient in this weapon if they are proficient with traditional hand crossbows, and bolts shot from this crossbow deal magical piercing damage.

Assassin's Concealment
The Assassin's Crossbow can be folded up to approximately the size of an average dagger to be concealed in a pocket, wrist sheath, or similarly sized space.

Charges
The Assassin's Crossbow has 3 charges that reset everyday at dawn. Expending a charge allows to wielder to do one of the following: cast Invisibility on self only, cast Pass without Trace, or fire a Warp Bolt (see below).

Fire a Warp Bolt
When expending a charge to fire a warp bolt, a normal crossbow bolt that is loaded into the Assassin's Crossbow is enchanted that, once shot, transposes its position with the wielder. If the space where the bolt is shot is otherwise occupied (such as by the now skewered body of a hypothetical enemy), the wielder is transported to the nearest available space within 5 feet. This action does not provoke opportunity attacks from enemies in melee range.

Author's Note
This is the hand crossbow variant of Black0wt20's homebrew item Longbow of the Assassin.
