Armor (ring mail), rare (requires attunement)

Arcane Drow Chain Shirt - This ancient dark elven shirt conveys a a +2 to the bearers AC and has a chance of deflecting critical hits due to its arcane composition. If you are hit with a critical strike, roll a flat d20. On a 15 or higher, the hit is not a critical strike, but a normal one instead.

The shirt once belonged to an Drow Prince that committed atrocities against his people. A powerful sorcerer cursed the Prince’s armor so as to bring about his downfall.

Fey Curse – Whispering Mockery:
The armor never ceases its cruel, fey-inspired commentary. What begins as a whisper builds into a sharp, mocking voice that echoes unnaturally. The taunts are cutting enough that enemies and allies alike can hear them clearly.

  • Whenever the wearer attempts a Stealth check, the mocking voice erupts loud enough to betray their position, causing all creatures within 30 feet of the wearer to have disadvantage on Stealth checks until the end of the wearer’s next turn.

  • In addition, if the party is attempting group Stealth, the curse often sabotages them — the armor will choose the worst possible moment to blurt insults, sing rude songs, or loudly narrate the druid’s failures.

Examples of the Mockery:

  • “Ah yes, hiding behind a twig! Truly, a master of shadows!”

  • “Shhh! Don’t let them hear you — oh wait, I think they heard me instead!”

  • “Are you sneaking or just prancing? Hard to tell from here!”

This armor is leather armor with heavy rings sewn into it. The rings help reinforce the armor against blows from swords and axes. Ring mail is inferior to chain mail, and it's usually worn only by those who can't afford better armor.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Stealth Disadvantage
