Why? Why shan't all that glitters not be mine? Why do the stars exist if they are not to be claimed? If thou knees are able to bend then thou shall bow at my feet. If thy mouths speaketh words then they shall sing my name! And if thou dares to take any that belongs to me let the gods have mercy for I will not.
Upon initial inspection the ring appears as any other ring. It's gold lining embraces and entwines through its silver elegance. If a player succeeds on a DC 10 Arcana check then they will reveal it to be a mystical artifact which has a curse which cannot be removed by any means. The inside of the ring appears to have a holy scripture engraved into and upon succeeding a DC 15 Religion check the player may reveal the scripture is in worship of Abbathor, The God of Greed.
If the player succeeds on a DC 15 Arcana check they can unveil the purpose of the ring and can identify the type of magic used in the curse sewn into the intricate metal.
If the player succeeds a DC 30 Arcana check, brings the artifact to a high level magic shop, or presents the ring to an apostle of Abbathor they can discern the true purpose of the ring detailed below.
Every day at dawn after attuning to the ring the player must a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. If the player succeeds then it continues to function as normal. If the player fails then they must find a magic item to attune to in 1d6 hours or take 2d10 psychic damage. After taking the damage the player must make another DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. The process repeats until either the player succeeds, they attune to a magic item, or the player dies. If the player dies by this way their soul is absorbed into the ring. A player who's soul is absorbed by the ring cannot be resurrected unless the soul is retrieved from the ring.
When the ring is equipped to a player it functions as a normal ring. When the player attunes to the ring they find that the scope of their magic has dramatically increased. A player attuned to this item may attach any magic items that requires attunement to it and use them as though the player themselves were attuned to it. Whenever an item is attuned this way it can never be unattuned to by means included that of the Wish spell and Remove Curse. Only 9 additional rings, a pair of boots, a magical weapon, and a magic armor may be attuned to this way. Any other magic items that require attunement may not be attuned to if the player exceeds the item limit. Any magic items the player attunes to over the limit will force the player to make a DC 15 Wisdom check or take 3d10 Force damage and have disadvantage on any checks using their chosen spellcasting modifier (if applicable) for 1d6 hours.
If the player manages to remove the ring by any means then all magic items attuned to the ring will detonate in a 100ft radius with 50d10 Necrotic damage. Anything reduced to 0 hp by this method is reduced to ash and crumbles away. Any organic or living thing reduced to 0 hp by this method crumbles away and cannot be resurrected by any means with their soul banished from all places of existence
