Armor (chain mail), very rare (requires attunement by a Requires attunement by a dwarf or a creature devoted to Moradin)

⚒️ Runed Chain of Moradin

This finely wrought suit of chain mail gleams with a silvery-steel hue that never tarnishes. Dwarven runes etched along the links pulse faintly with amber light, glowing brighter when the wearer stands against flame or evil magic. The air around the armor carries the faint scent of forge-smoke and sanctified oil.

Properties

  • AC: 18 (base 16 + 2 enchantment bonus)

  • Requires Strength 13, as normal for chain mail.

  • Stealth Disadvantage, as normal for heavy armor.

While Wearing This Armor:

  • You gain a +2 bonus to AC.

  • You have advantage on saving throws and ability checks to resist being pushed, knocked prone, or moved against your will.

  • You can speak, read, and write Dwarvish if you could not already.

Blessing of the Soulforge

Once per long rest, you can invoke Moradin’s blessing as a bonus action, causing the runes to flare like molten gold. For 1 minute:

  • You gain resistance to fire damage.

  • You can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on one attack roll made against an ally within 10 feet, as your armor flares with protective heat.

  • At the start of your turn, you regain 2 hit points as the divine forge mends your spirit.

When the blessing ends, the runes cool to a dull glow, as though resting before the next forging.

The Runed Chain of Moradin was forged in the halls of Kundrukkar, quenched not in water but in molten silver drawn from the Forgefather’s own altar. The armor is said to hum faintly when worn by a dwarf who upholds honor and craftsmanship — and to fall silent if donned by one who betrays the clan or desecrates a forge.

Made of interlocking metal rings, chain mail includes a layer of quilted fabric worn underneath the mail to prevent chafing and to cushion the impact of blows. The suit includes gauntlets.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Resistance: Fire, Requires attunement by a dwarf or a creature devoted to Moradin, Str. 13 Required, Stealth Disadvantage
