Weapon (rapier), very rare (requires attunement by a worshipper of Lathander or someone Lathander favors)

On rare occasions, the Morning Lord, Lathander, will bless or create a weapon for his worshippers, who are in the midst of an important quest against the forces of darkness, as a means of aiding their efforts. In this case, Lathander has blessed a Rapier of Warning of an adventurer, who is assisting one of his clerics on a quest to restore an ancient artifact of Lathander.

This magic weapon warns you of danger. While the weapon is on your person, you have advantage on initiative rolls. In addition, you and any of your companions within 30 feet of you can’t be surprised, except when incapacitated by something other than nonmagical sleep. The weapon magically awakens you and your companions within range if any of you are sleeping naturally when combat begins.

The Rapier now has a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made in combat.  Additionally, against Undead or Shadow based creatures, the Rapier will do an extra 3d8 Radiant Damage.  It also has three charges to allow the wielder to cast Protection From Evil & Good.  The Rapier regains all charges with the next dawn.

Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Advantage: Initiative, Damage: Radiant, worshipper of Lathander or someone Lathander favors, Damage, Combat, Finesse, Vex
