This shield is magically attracted to missiles. It has a +1 to armor class as a bonus to a normal shield's buff.
Arrow Attraction: You have charges equal to your proficiency bonus. When any physical ranged missile attack hits, you may expend one charge and as a reaction increase your AC by 4 for just that attack. If the same enemy makes more ranged attacks, you keep the AC bonus until the attacks are not physical and ranged or until that enemy's turn is over.
Cover Deployment: You do not expend a charge and slam the shield into the ground as a bonus action. the shield extends and unfolds itself so it is 5 feet high and 5 feet wide. The shield counts as cover, but with a bonus. Full cover is still full cover, but three quarters cover with the deployed shield becomes full cover, and half cover becomes three quarters cover. This bonus works only for you and allies.
Un-deploy: (Only works if deployed) You expend a charge as a bonus action for the shield to un-deploy and magically fly back to your hand (must be a free hand) and succeed on a dexterity check (DC 10 + 1 for every 10 feet away from it) to catch it.
However, if you manually un-deploy as an action, and are within five feet of it, it does not fly back to you but it does not use up a charge. You pick it up as part of the same bonus action if un-deployed this way.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, You must protect yourself from ranged missiles (they can be from anyone) with this shield.
