Wondrous Item, uncommon (requires attunement)
A shimmering coin from an arcade that never existed, etched with shifting runes and a grinning fae face. Once per day, you can spend the token to gain Heroic Inspiration and add 1d4 to the roll that follows.
When you do, a soft voice whispers, “Every play has a price.” Roll on The Arcadian Cost (d12) to learn what Arcadia claims in return.
The Arcadian Cost (d12)
(Roll whenever the token is spent. Each cost lasts 1 minute unless noted.)
| d12 | The Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 | Your reflection swaps places with you until dawn. You feel disoriented— disadvantage on Insight checks. |
| 2 | Neon motes orbit you. You shed 10 ft of light and can’t benefit from being hidden. |
| 3 | A ghostly crowd cheers your name. The noise distracts you— disadvantage on Concentration checks. |
| 4 | Pixel-bright butterflies trail from your shoulders. Enemies gain advantage on Perception checks to notice you. |
| 5 | A forgotten memory surfaces and stings. Lose 1d4 hit points for one hour. |
| 6 | A fae voice whispers your true name. Until your next rest, you have disadvantage on saving throws against being charmed. |
| 7 | Dice roll on their own. The next attack made against you has advantage, as fate balances the scales. |
| 8 | A glowing trinket appears in your hand. While you hold it, your AC is reduced by 1 as unseen eyes linger on its light. |
| 9 | Time hiccups. You may reroll your last action, keeping either result, but take 1 psychic damage as the timelines overlap. |
| 10 | Your shadow detaches and mimics you. Disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws. |
| 11 | A looping synth riff fills the air. Creatures have advantage on opportunity attacks against you. |
| 12 | The coin reappears in your palm, warm and whispering “Another round?” You regain the token’s use after a long rest but take 1d6 psychic damage as the bargain resets. |
