The Aurivorom — The Limbo-Born Seraphic Parasite

There are few creations more blasphemously divine than the Aurivorom — a living contradiction forged in the churning chaos where the heavens and the lower planes fray into Limbo. Scholars argue whether these beings were mistakes, cosmic experiments, or a desperate attempt at a perfect soldier. Whatever the truth, both angels and devils now fiercely deny involvement.

Born of Conflict

When a celestial crusade clashed against demonic incursions in the shifting wastes of Limbo, spilled ichor and divine essence merged with the plane’s raw chaos. From this fusion spawned larval beings of shimmering flesh and blackened halos — instinctively hungry for a purpose.

They were discovered by both sides of the Blood War. And both sides tried to claim them as weapons.

A Weaponized Blessing

The Aurivorom appears as a floating, halo-like ring of pale bone and flickering dark wings. When “bonded,” it burrows into a host’s spine, merging with their soul. This parasite amplifies its host’s strength, will, and violence — granting gifts that feel both holy and utterly profane.

Those who allow the creature to graft upon them feel as though a choir sings in their blood… while something growls underneath the music.

For most, the parasite functions like a divine familiar — granting radiant and necrotic power in equal measure. Military orders, cults, and secret inquisitions have used them to create terrifying living weapons.

But the Aurivorom Dreams

Though small, each Aurivorom houses a fractured personality — a celestial’s devotion and a fiend’s hunger constantly at war. When its will grows too strong, the parasite may assume direct control, turning the host into a silent vessel driven by a forgotten mission — one the parasite believes will earn it redemption… or damnation.

Some hosts report voices in their mind like scripture recited backwards. Others wake in places they do not remember going, with weapons wet and their heartbeat singing.

Corruption or Ascension

If the host embraces the Aurivorom fully, the parasite may cocoon within their soul, eventually transforming both into a winged abomination: a Harrowed Seraph. Such beings radiate awe and terror, with burning eyes and jagged halos, sworn to an agenda no mortal can grasp.

If the host resists, the Aurivorom may consume their soul entirely — leaving behind a hollow, beautiful corpse animated by something that never should have existed.

The Aurivorom’s Manifest Weapon — “The Arm of Duality”

When an Aurivorom selects a host, it coils around their dominant arm like a writhing band of white bone and ink-black sinew. Then—through biting, burrowing, and soul-binding—it replaces the limb’s identity, reshaping itself into a weapon that reflects the host’s deepest truth.

Some hosts see the weapon as a divine gift.
Others feel a demon’s leash tightening around their thoughts.
