Weapon (lance), legendary (requires attunement)

The golden lance crafted by the Dragon God-Smith, forged with runes of its blessing and quenched in its very own blood. Gifted to a hero and friend as a memento. Such a lance is divine in its form, containing the powerful words that command the arcane.

While attuned to this weapon it becomes magical and gains a +5 bonus to damage rolls. Angelica is a sentient weapon with the personality of the Dragon Smith-God that crafted it, able to communicate when directed and knows information it learned in life. It has the following mental statistics of; 18 Intelligence, 16 Wisdom, and 27 Charisma. It has true sight up to 15 ft. and its alignment is Lawful Neutral.

While attuned to Angelica the following runes are available and can be invoked:

Arcaniss. You can invoke this rune by using your action to begin concentration and chanting the following command phrase until the end of your next turn; "O' Dragon I break the first seal, arcane blood surge forth and grant me your knowledge. Upon my honor my enemies will be the wicked and unnatural, fear shall befall those which challenge the pinnacle. Arcaniss Angelica."
After this command phrase is chanted at the start of the subsequent turn you surge with Arcane Energy. Creatures within 15 ft. of you restore a magical resource of their choice up to 6 of its unit. You then gain access to Angelica's Draconic Arcana List for 1 minute. Once you invoke this rune you cannot do so again until the next dawn after you have given 50 of your hit points to the weapon. (See Angelica's Draconic Arcana List for details)

Arand. You may invoke this rune as a bonus action and speaking the command phrase; "Arise O' Dragon, sworn by my body that we shall share this moment. Arand Angelica."
After this command phrase is spoken you conjure the heart of the Dragon Smith-God in your off-hand until you dismiss it as a bonus action. The heart of the Dragon has 50 hit points and an armor class of 17. If it would be killed this rune becomes innert until you sacrifice 50 hit points to the weapon. Whilst holding this heart you can wield Angelica in one hand as if you were mounted. When you hit a target with this weapon you mark it with Dragon's Claw for 1 minute. While marked with Dragon's Claw the target cannot be hidden from you and you can hear it's heartbeat at all times. You have advantage on Insight, Intimidation, and Medicine checks on that target. You may use a bonus action to expend Dragon's Claw to perform one of the following:

  • Enchain. The target must make a DC 20 Charisma saving throw or have the arcane heart of the Dragon wrap chains around their heart for 8 hours. While affected by this ability the target is considered restrained for 1 minute any time they would tell a lie or become frightened. The target may attempt to resist this ability as an action every hour, repeating the saving throw. On a failure the chains tighten and reduce the maximum hit points of the target by 20.
  • Reprise. You open a portal to the target's location if it is within 300 ft. and make a contested grapple check. On a success the Dragon's heart grips at their heart and pulls them through the portal to your current position. You then make an attack with Angelica.

Fintir. You may invoke this rune as a reaction to landing an attack and speaking the command phrase; "O' Dragon roar."
When this command phrase is spoken you dash through the target in a 60 ft. line and force all creatures caught in the path to make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw or take 7d10 arcane damage and become staggered, all magical effects of 6th tier or lower end on those targets and within that path. On a success taking half as much damage and suffering no additional effects. Once you invoke this rune you cannot do so again until you've sacrificed 20 hit points to the weapon.

Haurach. Each time this weapon misses it gains a charge of Unfaltering up to a maximum of 20. You can invoke this rune by speaking the command phrase; "O' Dragon's loving embrace."
When this command phrase is spoken you expend any number of Unfaltering stacks to warp the space around you causing a single 1d20 roll within 40 ft. of you to become a number equal to the stacks expended, you can only use this property once per round.

Lovar. You can invoke this rune as an action and speaking out the command phrase; "O' Dragon bequeath me your promised partnership. Upon our bond I am king consort."
When this command phrase is spoken you call forth the Divine Beast of the Dragon as it cloaks you in a wreath until you dismiss it as an action. As a Divine Beast, the Dragon acts like a cloak as one of its claws holds onto your shoulder and the rest of its body fades into a ghostly form. You gain a flying speed of 40 ft. and as a bonus action you can command the Divine Beast of the Dragon to reach its claw out to attack, targeting three 20 ft. lines that are 5 ft. wide and 10 ft. apart from one another within 20 ft. of you. The Dragon rakes its claws back toward you and force targets in the path to make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d8 slashing damage and suffer reduced healing from all sources until the end of its turn. Once you invoke this rune you cannot do so again until you have given the weapon 270 hit points.

Arcaniss arand, Fintir haurach lovar er-qal Angelica. You can invoke every rune on this weapon by speaking the following command phrase as a ritual that takes 1 minute; "O' Dragon be mine, soar by my side and fulfill our promise. Betrothed by blood, burning by heart, magic by soul, and strength by mind. Your eyes and mine, your wings my hands. Divine bride of the forge, I call your name true. Claw forth and roar, speak to the golden storm with passion unbroken. My Angelica."
After the ritual is complete all runes begin to glow and the arcane power of Angelica surges into you transforming you into a Gold Dragon for 1 hour, summoning from the lance the divine partner Angelica to fight by your side. You share your hit points with Angelica and she acts on your turn on her own, during this time you can no longer use the weapon but all of the weapon's runes can still be invoked. After invoking this rune you cannot do so again until the dawn after you have given this weapon 546 hit points.

Proficiency with a Lance allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it. A Lance requires two hands to wield when you aren't mounted.
