The permanent fusion of Woe and Ruin. Once forged, they can never be separated again.
A longsword forged of blackened steel. Jagged crimson and violet runes are etched along its blade, glowing faintly like cracks in obsidian. Its edge gleams with unnatural sharpness, and the grip is wrapped in dark, worn leather. When drawn, the runes pulse faintly.

Features
Hunger of Atonement.
When you hit a creature under your Hexblade’s Curse, add +2 necrotic. If that creature dies, you regain hit points equal to PB + CHA and gain temporary hit points equal to CHA.
Embrace of Woe.
While a Crimson Rite is active, the first time you hit each turn, add [[1d4]] psychic damage.
Abyssal Resilience.
You have resistance to necrotic damage while attuned.
Judgment Strike.
A number of times per long rest equal to your CHA modifier, when you hit with Atonement, you may add your proficiency bonus to the damage a second time. (Add +PB to the damage roll.)
Judge's Verdict — Abyssal Cleave (1/Long Rest)
As an action, sweep Atonement in a 30-foot cone. Each creature makes a Dexterity saving throw (DC 16).
- On a failed save, it takes 4d10 force damage.
- On a success, it takes half as much.
Judge's Verdict — Dual Judgement Protocol (Passive)
When targeting a creature immune or healed by necrotic damage (such as undead, celestials, or constructs empowered by death magic), Atonement automatically converts all necrotic damage from your Hexblade’s Curse, Hex spell, or weapon features into radiant damage.
- This conversion occurs instinctively, no action required.
- The visual changes from shadowy crimson energy to a brilliant violet-gold radiance, representing the sword’s struggle between sin and redemption.
- Radiant damage from this effect bypasses resistance to necrotic damage, but does not ignore resistance to radiant.
- This system cannot be disabled while attuned — the blade itself decides when judgement is divine rather than profane.
Curse of Atonement
Atonement is the permanent fusion of Woe and Ruin and cannot be separated. It cannot be willingly unattuned except by a wish.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, by a pact-bound wielder, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
