By uttering its command word "Bektu," this warhammer can shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.
In the heart of the ancient dwarven kingdom of Dhur-mal-din, nestled deep within the Bloodtree Mountains, the legendary warhammer Ambakh-u-Marad ("The Destroyer of the Dead) was forged over 2,500 years ago. It's creator's name lost to the mists of time, the weapon was born from a dire need to combat a fiendish horror unleashed in the depths of the dwarven homeland.
Created from star-fallen iron and with consecrated mithril, the hammer is infused with radiant runes etched in the hammer’s head. Legends say it was tempered in holy flames in the sacred forge of the Temple of Thorin, granting it unparalleled potency against undead and fiends. Its haft, carved from ironwood from the distant Angyari Plains, ensured an unbreakable grip for its wielder.
The hammer passed through the hands of Dhur-mal-din’s greatest champions, each hero seeking to rid the dwarven halls of this demonic scourge. During the Fall of Dhur-mal-din, the hammer was lost in the chaos. Where it lies remains a mystery to this day.
