Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement by a Bard: hold and focus on a magical item for a period to allow the silver thread to weave and connect to the wearer's arcane energy.)
These soft leather gloves are lined with silk and stitched with fine silver thread that glows faintly in the presence of magic.
While wearing these gloves:
- Arcane Focus: While holding or feeling an object with the palm of your hand, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any Intelligence (Arcana) or Intelligence (Investigation) check you make regarding that object's magical properties.
- Identification: You can speak the gloves' command word as an action to cast the identify spell from them, targeting an object that you are holding or touching. A tactile connection must be maintained for the gloves to successfully identify the magical properties.
- Fragile Magic: Each time you cast the identify spell using the gloves, there is a chance that the delicate silver thread stitching unravels completely, causing the gloves to fall apart and be destroyed after casting the spell (failing a DC8 intelligence saving throw after identifying a magical item will destroy the gloves).
