Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Apathy is a sword forged in the deepest abyss from black metal that devours all hope. Its cold blade carries apathy to all living beings, and the runic symbols etched along its surface — “regret,” “oblivion,” “void” — serve as grim reminders of the fate that awaits those who dare to touch it. This is one of the two legendary relics of Lady Linkhab , the Mistress of Regret.

You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Devastation

Every strike from this weapon inflicts not only physica but also mental wounds. The attack deals an additional 1d8 psychic damage.

Brand of Oblivion

After attuning to this weapon, the wielder slowly loses interest in the fates of others, becoming increasingly selfish and detached.

After 7 days of attunement, once per week while you remain attuned, you must make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw. On a failure, your alignment gradually shifts toward evil (Good → Neutral → Evil). On a success, no change occurs until the next week.

If your character is already evil, no saving throws are required.

If the weapon is unattuned, the effect of the Mark of Oblivion remains, leaving a permanent scar on your personality. If you reattune to the sword later, the previous countdown resumes from where it left off.

The effect of the Mark of Oblivion can only be removed by the wish spell.

Echo of Regret

The air around you grows heavy, saturated with the sorrow of the lost, as a mournful whisper echoes from the abyss.

Roll 1d4 × 10 and subtract the result from your current hit points. For every 10 hit points lost this way, one specter manifests near you. They act immediately after you on the initiative order and remain as long as you are attuned to the weapon or until you summon new ones.

If you fall unconscious, all the specters come under the DM control and begin attacking nearby creatures.

Once you use this property, you can’t use it again until the next dawn.

Emotional Rift

When you hit a creature with this weapon, you may impose the effect of the confusion spell (DC 16 Wisdom saving throw).

Once you use this property, you can’t use it again until the next dawn.

Soul Consumption

Legend says that Lady Linkhab sent Apathy into the mortal world to harvest souls.

If a creature is slain by this weapon, its soul is irretrievably consumed by the Mistress of Regret 1d4 hours after death.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Psychic, Versatile, Sap
