Wondrous Item, rare

Weapon Bonus. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this whip. The weapon’s form ripples and flows like sentient seawater, glowing faintly in dim light.

Liquid Reach. The whip’s reach extends unnaturally — up to 20 feet when attacking or using its special abilities. The whip can pass through small openings, flow around corners, or wrap around objects as if semi-sentient water.

Tide’s Grasp (Utility Feature).

As an action, you can cause the Abyssal Lash to lash out and seize a creature or object within 20 feet. The target must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus).

  • On a failure, you can pull the target up to 10 feet closer to you or fling them up to 10 feet away in any direction (if they’re smaller than you).
  • On a success, the target resists but the whip remains wrapped around them until the start of your next turn, granting you advantage on any Athletics checks made to grapple or contest movement.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1), regaining all uses after a short or long rest.

A Siren’s Call.

When you speak in Primordial while wielding the whip, faint echoes of your old siren song accompany your words. Once per short rest, you can use the whip to amplify your voice and impose disadvantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks made against your Charisma-based Deception or Persuasion checks for 1 minute.

Appearance.

The whip is a constantly flowing current of dark ocean water, sometimes revealing faint shapes — hands, faces, or eyes — pressing outward from within, as though something ancient peers from beneath the waves. When it strikes, droplets of water remain suspended in the air for a moment before vanishing into mist.
