Wondrous Item, artifact

Forged in the stillwater forge of the Shardhollow, these mirrored tattoos were not drawn by hand, but called forth from beneath Adeem’s skin by Eshru’Thal, who saw what he carried beneath the calm. Each filament of ashglass—a blend of volcanic crystal and living reflection—anchors itself within his existing markings, shaping not armor, but awareness.

When Eshru completed her work, she said:
“You do not fear drowning.
You fear leaving the bottom behind.
Still water remembers too much.
I give you something that holds only what you choose to carry.”

The etchings shimmer faintly with inner light, reacting not to danger, but to emotion. They glow brightest when Adeem moves without hesitation—when his will and his heart are one.

Ashglass Defense. Your Armor Class increases by 3. This bonus does not interfere with armor, unarmored defense, swimming, stealth, or movement.

Prismatic State. As a bonus action, you can change the color of the ashglass veins to reflect your current emotional state. Only one color can be active at a time. Each color provides a passive benefit while it remains active:

Color Emotion Effect
Blue Calm, Focused You gain a +1 bonus to all saving throws.
Red Angry, Aggressive You gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls.
White Resolved, Steadfast You gain a +1 bonus to AC.
Gold Confident, Inspired You gain a +1 bonus to initiative rolls.
Green Loyal, Protective Allies within 5 feet of you gain a +1 bonus to saving throws.

You can change the active color as a bonus action. The chosen effect remains until you select a different color.

Appearance.
The Ashglass Veins thread through Adeem’s tattoos in patterns like moving tide lines—translucent, shifting with faint prismatic light. In calm moments they rest in gradients of pale blue and silver, but when emotion surfaces they flare to life. Underwater, the light trails his movements in ripples that linger just a moment longer than they should, mirroring the stillness he is learning to release.
