This weatherworn cloak once belonged to Thomas Alderglen, a village militia captain known for his steady faith and tireless patrols. Its heavy fabric still carries the faint smell of smoke, wet earth, and rain-soaked roads. The inner lining has been patched with mismatched scraps of cloth from various villages, each one a quiet testament to journeys taken and people protected.
In the hands of a devoted healer and wanderer, the cloak’s stitching sometimes catches a warm, dawn-like glimmer, as if lit from within by first light on a quiet morning. When its power stirs, faint motes of pale gold drift from the hem and fade before they touch the ground.
While worn, this cloak grants the following benefits:
Field Healer’s Boon.
When the wearer casts a cleric spell of 1st level or higher that restores hit points to a creature other than the caster, that creature regains additional hit points equal to the caster’s proficiency bonus. This bonus applies once per creature per spell.
Not On My Watch.
Once per long rest, when a creature the wearer can see within 30 feet would be reduced to 0 hit points, the wearer can use their reaction to invoke the cloak’s protection. When this happens, the cloak flares with a brief, sunrise-like radiance that spills toward the fallen creature. That creature instead drops to 1 hit point and gains temporary hit points equal to twice the wearer’s proficiency bonus.
