“The Clock Starts Ticking”
Forged in a forgotten sun-temple and carried through a thousand might-have-beens, Amaunator’s Belt appears as a broad girdle of dull gold plates, each engraved with a rising or setting sun. On the inner surface, where only the wearer can feel it, fine sigils trace hours, days, and years in a language that tastes like dust and old light. In this state the Belt is mostly quiet, a warm, steady weight at your hips—yet every so often, when you hesitate at a choice or glance toward a distant horizon, you could swear the metal shifts by a hair’s breadth, as if aligning with a clock only it can hear.
While wearing this belt, you gain the following benefits:
Subtle Chronometer. You gain +1 to Initiative. You always know the exact time of day and how long until sunrise/sunset/moonrise.
Sun-Tempered Eyes. You gain Advantage on Perception checks that rely on sight in Bright Light.
Future’s Whisper (1/Short Rest). When you make an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can roll 1d4 and add it after seeing the roll but before knowing the outcome.
Tiny echoes of futures where you hesitated less.
Upgrade. See Amaunator’s Awakened Belt
Suggested progression. Level 5–10 + first big ‘defy fate’ story moment
