Wondrous Item (tattoo), uncommon

Produced by a special needle, this magic tattoo features Red Flames and Flowers spiralling around the legs.

Leap into the Sky, Scorching Heaven & Earth This tattoo perpetually emanates heat. Flamestride. You can move across lava as if it were harmless, solid ground, and you take no damage from the heat, provided you don't end your turn there. Blast Off. As a Magic action, you wreathe your legs in flames and vertically leap up to 300 feet. The flames shed Bright Light in a 30-foot-radius and Dim Light for an additional 30 feet. While airborne, the flames slow your rate of descent from 60 feet per round, and you can land in an unoccupied space of your choice within a range equal to your ascent, taking no damage from the fall. Optionally, each creature within 10 feet of your ascent and/or landing makes a Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d8 Fire damage on a failure, or half as much damage on a success. Once used, this property can't be used again until the next dawn. Upgrade. The damage increases by 1d8 when you reach Levels 5 (3d8), 11 (4d8), and 17 (5d8).

Notes: Reagent. Fire Elemental Ash (250gp) Curse. The tattoo seethes with the same fury of the fire elemental whose ash makes up its pigment. When the bearer refrains from exuding flames on the ascent and/or descent, roll 1d20. On a 1, flames are exuded regardless, forcing nearby creatures to make their save. History. In their desperation to survive the War of Sundered Oaths, the magma dwarves—whose volcanic lands are rife with rampant fire elementals—devised the Ascendant Torch. Inking the experimental tattoo on their most elite soldiers, these dwarven assault troopers managed to reclaim their cliffside fortresses and drive the enemy back to the border.
