Armor (plate), legendary (requires attunement by a Np specific attunement requirements )

The knight stood guard at the top of the path leading to Katria Castle with armored donned and a spear in hand. The armor has long since been weathered, damaged, and completely broken in some areas. Many have noticed a faint silver mist coming out of the armor but nothing else inside. The knight stood to guard the castle, but when did he leave the armor?

This full set of heavy armor, lined with silver and exuding a faint, silver mist, is a testament to the legendary Wispy Knight’s enduring legacy. Once attuned, the armor grants the following benefits:

  • Armor Class: The armor provides a flat AC of 20. The wearer must have a Strength score of 18 or higher to effectively use the armor.
  • Misty Step: The attuned creature can cast the Misty Step spell a number of times equal to 1+ the proficiency bonus of the attuned creature.

The Armor of the Wispy Knight is imbued with a powerful curse that ties the wearer to an ancient, relentless fiend. The curse can only be removed by a Remove Curse spell cast at 7th level or by a Wish spell. However, removing the curse also strips the armor of all its magical benefits, reducing it to a mundane, albeit finely crafted, set of heavy armor (plate).

  • Death’s Transformation: If the wearer is killed while attuned to the armor, they are transformed into a Reaper. The Reaper attacks the nearest living creatures until all are dead. Once defeated, the Reaper’s body evaporates into a fine silvery mist, leaving no trace of the body or its possessions. This can be reversed only by a Wish spell.
  • Optional Curse:  Once attuned, the wearer is hunted by a demon of increasing power every 1d12 days, as determined by the Dungeon Master.

Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
