Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Forged by the master bladesmiths of the Ashen Veil, these blades bears a blade of impossible elegance, a single-edged curve drawn longer than tradition would allow, granting its wielder a striking reach and balance between precision and power. The metal shimmers faintly beneath light, the Damascus folds running like flowing rivers beneath a polished surface. Its hilt is often adorned with intricate guards, braided cords, and gilded ornaments that speak not of vanity, but of reverence.

You have a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

While wielding this blade, you gain a +2 bonus to AC.

This weapon has the finesse and reach properties.

You can choose to attune to this weapon. While attuned, you gain the following benefit:
Elemental Armament.
The sword deals an additional 2d8 damage of a type of your choice: acid, cold, fire, force, lightning, necrotic, poison, psychic, radiant, or thunder. You choose the damage type when you finish a long rest, and you can change it whenever you finish another long rest.

As a bonus action, you can prematurely change the sword's elemental damage type to another option from the list above.

Elemental Refraction.
When you take damage of the sword’s chosen elemental type, you can use your reaction to absorb a portion of that energy into the blade. When you do so, you gain resistance to that damage type until the start of your next turn.
Until the end of your next turn, the blade hums with stored energy. When you hit a creature with this weapon, the attack deals an extra 2d10 damage of the absorbed type.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Soul of the Elements.
When you drop to 0 hit points but aren’t killed outright, the sword releases its elemental essence to protect its master. All creatures of your choice within 15 feet of you must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier). On a failed save, a creature takes 5d10 damage of the sword’s current elemental type, or half as much on a successful one. You then regain hit points equal to the total damage dealt by this feature.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
