This powerful magic item was fashioned centuries ago and passed from one bearer to the next when fell enemies gathered and mighty forces must once again rise to oppose them.
The small, unobtrusive, iron amulet was originally set with 9 garnets. Six garnets have turned to dust, expending their magical charge; three remain. The amulet protects the wearer from any magical effect that would substantially alter their form or bodily composition. Transmutation attacks like polymorph, petrification, or even disintegrate are defeated by the use of the amulet. However, the bearer must decide to use one of its charges prior to rolling a saving throw. Upon doing so, the attack is prevented and another garnet turns to dust. When the last charge is used the amulet itself will disintegrate and another powerful defense will be lost to the guardians of order.
