Assassin's Veil

This dark gray and shining silk scarf is thin, cool, beautiful and confortable. Made of spider silk by master elven craftsmen, this veil creates an illusion which blurs the features of the person wearing it and makes him or her virtually unrecognizable as long as the scarf is worn around the neck or face.

As a bonus action you may cast a Minor Illusion spell on your face without expending a spell slot and cause your face to resemble someone else of the same sex, but you cannot choose the face the Illusion projects over your own. Also, this illusion will not move its mouth or eyes and will not withstand physical scrutiny of any kind as a simple touch will reveal the illusion.

Under close scrutiny, at a distance of 15 feet or less, and in normal light such as torch light, lantern light, or a light cantrip, the illusion or blurring effect the Assassin's Veil projects will become transparent to any one succeeding a DC 15 Intelligence Saving Throw. Under bright light such as in sunlight or under the Daylight Spell, the illusion fades completely for anyone within 15 feet of you. In dim light such as candle light or in shadows, the DC to see through the illusion increases to 18 if the creature can see you and is within 15 feet of you.

If you use the scarf as a mask over the lower part of your face, however, you become unrecognizable even under in normal light and anyone attempting to identify you later must succeed a DC 18 Saving Throw to do so. Under bright light, the DC to identify you is 15 if the observer was within 15 feet of you when he or she saw you.

If the blurring effect is penetrated while you wear the scarf over your nose and mouth, they will only see you in a mask; and, if the minor illusion is penetrated when the scarf is around your neck, others will see your own face behind a transparent sheen. If so, someone trying to recognize you or identify you later must make a Perception Skill Check against your Decption Skill Check to do so.

Removing the scarf completely breaks the illusion and the veil's blurring effect, but you may choose to end the blur or reveal your true face at will.
